The Biltmore Estate

I wouldn’t say the Biltmore Estates has ever been on our “bucket list” but a road trip to South Carolina opened an opportunity for the visit. The mansion was absolutely beautiful!

John and I have been to many castles and palaces throughout Europe. The Biltmore, although is not a castle, it is a beautiful American “palace” of sorts. Deep history and magical gardens.

A special bonus and another highlight to our visit was the beautiful Chihuly glass display.

Check out information on Dale Chihuly

The Chihuly display travels around the world. Colorful glass blown art remind me of the beautiful glass of Murano, Italy.

I loved this room so much! The blue and white were stunning. The lights below are reflections of the actual glass blown displays.

The Chihuly display was in a separate building and what seemed to be a miles away from the Estate even though it was part of the Biltmore grounds.

A wall of textures!

These blankets were on display. The designs and colors were beautiful.

The Biltmore Estate

The atrium was just inside the entrance. To describe it’s beauty in words is almost impossible. I just wanted to sit and imagine how it must have been like to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in such a beautiful space.

The rooms in the estate were cozy and grand all at the same time. Each room had a theme of its own. Dining tables for a few or a whole bunch of people. I can only imagine the dinner parties!

One of my favorite rooms was the library. Books, books and more books!

These steps have wheels to move about the room.

I’m always looking up. These ceilings were a work of art.

And then there were the gardens.

One of my favorite things I love to create are living spaces. Small rooms in one space. This is how I felt about the gardens. A vast area filled with many different types of plants creating many rooms.

Who knows where our next adventure will take us!
